For the Love of All Things Holy, Are You Serious?!

To Anyone Who Has Ever Accused Me of Being Subjective in My Opinions,

I want you to read about PETA's new suggestions regarding cow's milk with respect to Ben and Jerry's ice cream.

Now, close your eyes and thank God that you only have to contend with me and not these people.

All the Best,

Faiqa

Okay. You're right. That's insane. Makes a lot of things in my world seem....um....normal. God, that even makes me ex seem almost only half nuts. Did I really write that?

crys: True. Animal cruelty? I'm not a big fan. But, I'll kill the cow myself to keep from having to drink human breast milk.

hoosiergirl: I'm glad PETA is aiding you on the path to spiritual enlightenment.

avitable: That was an entirely predictable response.

Yeah, while reading this, I did actually puke in my mouth a little bit. I don't think I am going to be able to eat ice cream again out of the fear and the thought of this. Ack!

Hey Faiqa,
I read your comments over at SM and found them to be thoughtful and on point. I've also come by your blog in the past via a link from Yaz (sweepthesunshine.com). I want to thank you for being so eloquent in your views, not just with regards to Muslims in America, but people in general. You come across as sensitive, intelligent and just plain with it. :)
I wanted to email you but I couldn't find a link (I probably just missed it). So I thought I'd profess my love here. ;)

Keep on it!

sybil: I just don't understand their reasoning? I mean, couldn't they just have suggested soy? I suppose the suggestion is based on making a point that breast milk is breast milk and it's generally gross? Whatever their reasoning, I'll never look at any animal's milk the same. I'm scarred. Until my husband brings home some New York Superfudge Chunk. That will be healing.

tami: lol. threw up in my mouth... man, I wish I had used that line in my post.

preeti: awww. thanks. Actually, I forgot that I hadn't posted my e-mail on the blog, oops. You can e-mail me at himayat_220[at]hotmail [dot]com.

EVERYONE: Preeti is an amazing photographer. Click on her name to see her Flickr page. Breathtaking!!

I thought it wasn't serious, they aren't serious?

Would they get enough breast milk for their production needs?

You know what's good to wash out that "threw up in my mouth" taste?

Breast milk.

---

tho, I don't understand why society so so against breastfeeding and human breast milk. Don't non-industrialized countries have their kids on the breast until age six or something? It's the best food you can give a kid, increases the family bond, bolsters the immune system better than ANY drug, and is free. Non-mom Judgy McJudgersons should just back off.

I swear, it's like we get closer and closer to Brave New World where the word "mother" is a term of profanity.
